Honoring Great Spirit is the fifth element of my Spiral Path e-course. Great Spirit, or Goddess, is at the center of our circle, so it’s everywhere and nowhere. This is that which is between-the-worlds, the realm of connection and ritual. This Fifth Element brings everything together, nurturing us as whole and self-contained beings and fosters the possibility for communion and community.
In that spirit, I’m so excited to be joining a virtual community of creative goddesses. I’ve just started Leonie Dawson’s fun six week e-course, Creative Goddess. While I’ve long been a fan of women’s circles, artist’s retreats, pagan ritual and alternative events like Burning Man, I’ve never really done much with the online world until very recently.
Hell, I only got a smart phone about two weeks ago. I relish my whole Techno-Dork, Neo-Luddite vibe!
But my blog has been frozen in the darkness of a fallow season for what seems a very long time. I’ve been asleep and dreaming. In quiet contemplation mode. Solitary mode.
In scribbling ideas, alone and sleepless at 4am mode.
I’m starting to warm up though. I’m stretching my limbs and shaking off the numbness of uncertainty. My blogging and online presence is on the cusp of a period of blossoming. (Of course the thought of a hard pruning scares me, but what the hell!)
I took the plunge and joined the Goddess Circle, Leonie Dawson’s wildly popular and active worldwide community of creative goddesses.
At first I worried she’d already created something I could have, would have, should have in a closely aligned parallel universe. I heard the familiar inner dialogue that blunts many an artistic endeavor…”Oh what’s the use? It’s all been done before. Why bother?”
I worried everybody there had long ago joined the party and I’d starve because the buffet would be so picked over.
(Yeah…I got to put a leash on that bitch – I call her ‘Pessimism Girl’!)
So enough of such nonsense! If I’m fashionably late, I’m pretending the real party is just gettin’ started!
So cheers to sisterhood and the Goddess Circle, to virtual community and to creativity! Most importantly, cheers to playing-as-if!
